SNOW!

We woke up this morning a bunch of snow and went out this afternoon to our favorite sledding spot! It was still coming down while we were there, but that did not stop us ( and a bunch of other people ) from having fun! It is so cool to see familiar places change with the seasons, the corn fields that are so tall and green in the summer look like the surface of another planet in the winter.

Christmas 2009

It is hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already! We had a nice cozy quiet day here at home, and enjoyed each other very much. As usual we missed our far away friends and family and are looking forward to many visits in 2010. The big hit this year for the boys were Nerf guns, AE clothing for Cody and Tyler's Devastator Transformer. My favorite thing this year was a new lens for my camera- just the push I needed to get my camera off the auto setting more often!

Yes, I am crazy!

When the boys announced this year that they were not going to see Santa, I was sad. Visiting Santa is something we have done every year- the photos are always bad and it is not the most fun thing we do but it IS tradition. When I saw in the newspaper that the Santa at the mall welcomes pets on Monday nights I knew my battle was won this year! The boys were super excited about taking Summer to see Santa!


Taking your dog to the Mall on the last Monday night before Christmas is not the best idea- but we did it! Santas camera was not working so I took my own shots- just like in years past, not the best pictures, but they are done. One more thing checked off my holiday to do list.

And yes, I realize this is my last picture ever of my kids with Santa... sniff sniff.

Camera Straps!

I have been super busy making camera straps and filling orders from my SHOP. There are still tons of cute straps in the shop, and I am adding more every day. They make great gifts and and would be a nice Christmas gift for anyone who gets a new camera this year!

Decking the halls

After seeing cute pom pom garlands here and here, I had to make some for myself! This is the first time I have ever decorated the stair railing and love it. The garlands are so easy to make- both boys helped with them and had a great time jamming the needle thru each pom pom.



Just for fun here is a picture I took last weekend while we were out running errands- we took Summer with us because we were going to Petsmart to see Santa ( that is a story for another day- what a joke that Santa was- I hate a bad Santa! ). Everytime we take her somewhere in this car, she hops up onto the back window area and stays put. It is so cute! She knows it is her perfect car riding spot.

Just wanted to show off my extensive collection of bottle brush trees. There are 28- I know this because Tyler counts them every morning! Most are vintage, some are new and all are cute. I don't have a favorite, I have about six favorites. I have been collecting them for a long time, it helps having a Mom that owns an antique store and keeps the best ones for me!

Day 3- we have a crazy busy day today, so I am using our Christmas card photo shoot as todays subject. I love these pictures! I already have the family photo printed as an 8x10 and framed- it's a keeper!
